Organic Vietnam Green Tea
Vietnam's tea cultivation has a long tradition, with favorable weather conditions that allow for large-scale production. The northern and north-central mountainous regions are the main areas for tea plantations, with Thai Nguyen province being a particularly famous center for tea production. The tea gardens in Thai Nguyen are located at altitudes between 1000 and 1650 feet, producing a sweet but grassy green tea.
Health Benefits: Organic Vietnam green tea is rich in polyphenols, plant chemicals that give tea its distinct flavor, aroma, and health properties. Regular consumption of 2-3 cups daily can help reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. The tea also contains caffeine, which can increase alertness and have a mild diuretic effect.
Brewing Instructions: To brew Vietnamese green tea for the best flavor, use fresh, filtered water heated to about 175°F (80°C). Steep 1-2 teaspoons of tea leaves per cup for 2-3 minutes. Avoid using boiling water, as it can make the tea taste bitter.
Organic Certification: The organic green tea from Vietnam is 100% pure and natural, free of pesticides, herbicides, and additives. The tea leaves grow on ancient 'Tuyet San' tea trees in the Tua Chai district in the Lai Chau province, northwest Vietnam. The mountain tops are covered in clouds nearly the whole year round, providing ideal cultivation conditions.
Flavor Profile: Vietnamese green tea has a golden color and a full, light sweet taste with a fresh note. The tea leaves are of FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe) quality, which denotes high-quality tea with young tea leaves that grow at the top of the tea tree.
